Water Related Closing Issues

As many of you already know, Homes In Transition was created over 5 years ago to help Brokers with the chores created by their vacant listings and to enhance the marketability of those listings.  The idea of furnishing a home to help it sell has been around for a long time and by the number of calls we get for our services, the idea seems to be alive and well!

With the growing drought, there has been a large increase in water related closing failures.  Our numbers would indicate that 4 in ten deals fall apart due to water related issues in transactions where the home was on a well or other non-city supplied water system.  Some of you have sold houses and now have unhappy clients because the water system had failed or diminished to a point where they are not satisfied!  We have seen some eat the cost of drilling wells only to come up dry – AGAIN!  And as long as we don’t see massive amounts of rain and snow, the drought from the last 10 years is only going to make matters worse.

As some of you know, we have created another company to bring viable, affordable solutions to these water issues many of you face when selling a home that has a marginal or poor quality well, or poor performing community water system.  That company is Water Management Solutions.

Next week we will learn more about Water Management Solutions.
